JUDY HAUSMAN LEFF
Judy has been creating musical experiences for people of all ages and all abilities for over two decades and she really does sing (and dance) daily.
In her two+ decades career as an early childhood music educator, Judy has helped thousands of families recognize, nurture and support their children's musical development, how to parent musically and how to be a musical family. Her work as a Vibrational Sound Artist has been described as "magical" and "other-worldly" as she weaves her voice, layered over itself, into her Sound/Song Bath experiences. She has attended CircleSongs retreats with Bobby McFerrin (at Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY) which inspires her to bring more opportunities for collective music making to the general public as a mechanism for empowerment and healing. As a cantorial soloist, she created sacred musical space for those seeking a musical way to connect to spirit. One of her passions is to help non-singers (i.e., shy singers or those who think they have no musical ability) to find their voice so as to bring the joy of music making into their lives. As a GROOVE facilitator, she does the same with those who think they have no rhythm and helps them find the way to creatively move their bodies that is unique to them.
She has also taught private and group beginner music lessons (piano, voice, ukulele) primarily for young children - her unique approach to teaching music built on a child's natural disposition towards music and guides them - and their parents - to a life-long love of making music.
Judy has been awarded Music Together®'s Certification Level 2 for demonstrating mastery in teaching, musicianship, program philosophy and parent education. She studied with Sound Practitioner and creator of Sonic Mindfulness, Maraliz Campos. She is a Vibrational Sound Therapy practitioner (certified by the Vibrational Sound Association) and a licensed facilitator of The World GROOVE Movement.
